Essential Functions
Work to complete objectives established by Value Stream Manager. Empower others to complete established objectives meeting Division standards and goals. Responsible for the product flow and on time delivery of all products in area. Interact with every functional area in the Division. In addition, interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and other potential business partners. Participate in cross-functional activities that may include any or all of the following: Marketing/Sales, Planning, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Production, and Cost Accounting, as required to meet division goals for assigned product lines and/or services. Use independent sound judgment to resolve departmental problems and/or processes.
Oversee work rules and policy application to ensure consistency and fairness.
Ensure that product flows through the shop in a quick and efficient fashion.
Handle problems in a calm, quick, and efficient manner.
Effectively manage and coach line leads to direct the work force to promote a smooth-running department.
Track departmental goals daily.
Understand production control.
Help in the expediting of orders to reduce past dues.
Schedule workforce on a weekly basis.
Shift manpower according to workload.
See that safety measures are met in every aspect of the work environment.
Oversee entire departments on all shifts.
Aid in the correct machining and assembly of parts according to print.
Provide excellent service for and maintain communications with internal and external customers always.
Promote the culture of Targets and QS-9000 and strives for continuous improvements.
Promote team environment.
Mentor all people starting with line leads by challenging them, listening to them, offering opinions, and giving sound advice.
Help find ways to continually educate all employee levels.
Communicate with all employees in every direction and across all shifts.
Must be available for occasional external travel.
Qualifications
Employee must regularly lift and move up to 23 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to stand for 10-12 hours per day.2 years experience in manufacturing assembly with 1 year lead responsibility. Self-starter takes initiative and responsibility to develop teams. High level of reasoning skills with ability to solve problems quickly. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to read and correctly interpret instructions, drawings, specifications, procedures, and computer-generated data. Writing skills sufficient to prepare necessary documentation and reports presentable to internal and external customers. Verbal communication must be at a professional level consistent with providing meaningful feedback to internal and external customers.
