Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN3) position, 100% FTE (40 hours per week), Day shift (Monday thru Friday) with the 5NJB- Spine Clinic

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.  Patient Care
     Serves as liaison for patients, staff and other departments regarding patient care issues or complaints.
     Assists the clinic manager in the development and implementation of programs to insure quality patient care and efficient patient flow through the clinic.
     Actively participates in nursing care of patients and completes RN2 clinical competencies.

2.  Patient Access 
     Coordinates with the Patient Access Center, outpatient clinic, inpatient nursing, emergency department, and physicians to assure referred patients receive timely and appropriate care.
     Works closely with the Business Operations Supervisor, Referral Coordinators, and nursing staff to ensure referrals are medically reviewed on a daily basis and appointed in a timely manner.

3.    Supervision/Leadership 
     Responsible for the day to day supervision of clinic staff, and overall clinic through-put.
     Responsible for posting and adjusting daily staffing to meet clinic and patient needs.
     Approves staff leave requests  and submits weekly staffing analysis.
     Responsible for annual performance appraisals and participates in corrective action or informal coaching when necessary.
     Responsible for reviewing for accuracy, signing and submitting weekly time sheets.
     Promotes staff communication by facilitating staff meetings and using available communication such as E-mail, Communication book and memos.
     Evaluates the learning progress of new staff and orients new staff.
     Participates and leads staff in the development of the staff/physician work team relationship.
     Works to develop a positive environment by addressing conflicts and promoting teamwork.
     Works to assist staff in understanding and carrying out administrative and management directives.
     Participates in clinic and hospital quality improvement projects or work groups as assigned.
     Assists clinic manager in the development of clinic guidelines and policy and procedures.
     
4.   Clinic Operations 
     Coordinates with other departments re:  clinic, safety and maintenance issues.
     Maintain clinic equipment and supplies.  Submits supply orders to managers.  Reports deficiencies and concerns to manager, and take into consideration cost-effectiveness of supply and equipment requests.

6.     Demonstrates competency in providing care for the typical age ranges of patients seen in clinic.
7.     Promotes and maintains an environment that is receptive, and supportive of diversity in the workplace, and instills an attitude of helpfulness.
8.     Provides daily leadership by actively participating in patient care and monitoring through-put. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:
BSN or higher degree
Current license AND two years of professional nursing experience OR
equivalent education/experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
L-RN  | REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE - WA State
