  • Oversee and manage tenant deliveries with contracted vendor ensuring all applicable rules and regulations are being followed within the time limitations of the delivery program
  • Ensure that only assigned Checkpoints are being utilized
  • Work with both United and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey on any changes and/or updates to the delivery program and amend, notify and implement as necessary Prepare, Bid and Award Property Concession Management contracts and maintain all records of same
  • Manage all applicable contracted servicors accountable
  • Prepare, Bid and Award OTG Operational contracts for a handful of primary services

Role and Responsibilities


The role of Assistant Property Manager (APM) – Facilities will work closely with the Property Manager and is key member of the Property Management team, responsible for overall operational standards for the terminal.  This role is a key position within a small, but seasoned, Property Management team that is tasked with delivering maximum results for United Airlines through its Retail/Food & Beverage Concession program within Newark Liberty International Airport Terminal C.


The individual we seek is a take charge professional that does not accept the ordinary but empowers themselves to deliver the extraordinary in services and standards for the United passenger and OTG.

As the aviation environment is unique, relationship building is key and will include developing strong partnerships within OTG as well as with the Concession tenants, United Airlines and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey local and corporate personnel. 

Primary areas of responsibility include Facility oversight and management in all OTG assigned areas for Concession Management. These include, the following:

  • Vendor Contracts
  • Dock and Delivery logistics
  • Construction
  • Support corporate Tenant Coordinator and Construction. Assist in overcoming any obstacles with permitting/inspections through developed contacts with the Port Authority and United to expedite tenant openings. 
  • Co-manage Construction activities with corporate Construction team on-site and Tenant Coordinator and communicate same to United, as applicable


Prepare and oversee facility budget and ensure all costs associated with property operations are managed with direct guidance and oversight. Process and check contractor invoicing. Keep expenses within budget

Complete all applicable reporting and inspections as required: Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports; Daily and Bi-Monthly tenant inspections and applicable follow up

Oversee Preventative Maintenance of equipment and record keeping/related logs

Ensure all COIs are current and contain applicable language and limitations as required  

Ensure all applicable fees are paid annually/according to local, state, Federal and Port Authority codes, compliance, and requirements

Take and submit “Before and After” documentation photos for Concession Program Binder and submit to applicable parties as required


Oversee facilities in a crisis ensuring the safety and security of all customers, tenants, guest and assets

Work with United and the Port Authority in planning and implementation of a fire safety program

Manage preventative maintenance program and oversee any necessary repair or construction work to sustain a safe and reliable environment

Relationship Development

Code Officials: Health, Fire, Building, Safety and Security, PD with the Port Authority of New York and NJ


Point of Contact for, manages, and communicates inclement weather procedures with Concession tenants

Provide leadership and guidance to the on-site OTG Property Management team

Provide facility support as necessary for special promotions or events (set ups, crowd control, tear down)

Support Property Manager in overall program budgeting and forecasting


AA, BA, BS degree; or equivalent 

Shopping center/retail/hospitality experience, a plus
