Responsibilities
Position Summary:To direct product development efforts as required to complete system solutions in support of the Corporate WIN Strategy. Provide electrical and controls engineering support for development of web handling and process assembly and test equipment. Position leads projects to design and implement lab prototype machines, pilot production lines, full size commercial machines and equipment.Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

Developing electrical, control, software and safety architectures to satisfy customer requirements2. Developing specifications for electrical controls, automation hardware, user interface, software components and systems.3. Develop operating procedures, acceptance test and validation test plans and protocols.4. Design, develop, upgrade, and debug sequence control logic, PLC programs, HMIs, electrical control sub-systems.5. Design, build, upgrade, and debug electrical systems including control panels and point to point wiring.6. Define requirements for manufacturing process automation required for scale-up of pilot systems.7. Troubleshoot hardware and software components and sub-systems.8. Collect and analyze performance data from equipment and automated processes to evaluate system performance.9. Lead efforts to design and engineer control systems in associated markets for the purpose of seamless integration of the various components of the system. Identify industry specifications and determine conformance.10. Develop control systems interface, maintenance, and training approaches and documentation including functional diagrams, schematics, interface control documents, reports of performance, function, safety, and reliability requirements analysis, system function, and/or existing technology/manufacturing capability.12. Furnish all controls-related hardware and peripherals. Design Web-based user interface for view by engineers, support and service technicians, and end users.13. Provide technical support for system installation as needed. Support Parker Sales and Divisions in customer technical visits.14. Provide on-site controls system commissioning when requested.15. Keep informed of new technologies, developments, products, applications and competitor trends. Identify and recommend new products, solutions, technical brochures and engineering/ application data needs to comply with industry needs.16. Utilize Parkers Systems Development Process to insure system reliability. Facilitate and participate in system FMEAs and the development process. Work in close harmony with other divisions and sales management in making Parker the number one systems solution provider. Help elevate Parkers image with Global OEM advanced engineering teams.17. Lead or participate in studies to evaluate or determine feasibility of new or modified equipment and related systems considering technical and economic factors, available resources, time constraints, and customer impact. Present study results and recommendations to appropriate people.18. Qualifications
1. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-7 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. M.S. degree preferred.2. Demonstrated project management skills and creativity in new product design required.3. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD software required.4. Sound presentational skills including experience in using Power Point to develop presentations required.5. Must have ability to deal with people at a cross-functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to inquiries from employees, customers, and suppliers.6. Advanced PLC programming skills.7. Lab-view programming a plus.8. Parker IQAN a plus.
