Responsible for tax working papers and monthly tax remittances for all of Canada and assisting with government audits. Will also have responsibilities for general accounting including but not limited to trade accounts receivable and accounts payable. The FSU accountant will be responsible for following compliance with corporate policies and procedures while maintaining accounting controls. The position will work under the supervision of the Canadian Tax Manager. The FSU Accountant position involves various accounting functions related to supporting the Canadian FSU and Parker Hannifin Canada divisions.
Requires ability to effectively work in a matrix environment. Must have demonstrated relationship building skills. Leadership by influence is a key business skill.Basic Function/Essential Duties: Assist with the preparation of income tax working papers
Responsible for annual taxable benefits for automobiles
Responsible for all Stats Canada Reporting
Responsible for Sales tax remittances & Income tax installments
Assist with Government audits
Corporate reporting (US Survey)
Financial Analysis
Responsible for monthly general ledger down loads and record retention
Analyze, produce and report monthly reconciliations through Blackline
Property valuations for Corporate risk department
Monthly preparation and uploading journal vouchers
Preparation of the quarterly play back to the divisions
Month JV audit control
Producing monthly AP tags
Backup to Accounts payable
Fixed Asset Inventory
Take part in peer-to-peer SOX audits.
Develop and maintain written procedures/work instructions
Join in company wide lean initiatives to improve efficiencies and policies
Back up to Treasury Manager daily functions
Special Projects as requiredJob SpecificationsEducation/Experience: University degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Pursing CPA designation preferred
1-3 years of accounting experience
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Must possess strong analytical skills and business acumen.
Task- and goal-oriented.
Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions.
