Responsibilities
The Division Financial Controller is responsible for the safeguarding and ethical accounting of all of the Gas Turbine Filtration Division assets in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles. Develops and administers on a division wide basis the overall accounting function with the Win Strategy. Functions include: budgeting, planning, internal control oversight, financial reporting both internal and external, financial performance measurement, financial system implementation, and technical accounting support and guidance. The role reports directly to the Division General Manager.Specific duties listed: Prepares statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet. Ensures accurate weekly forecasts are created and provided to the Platform/Group.
Analyzes monthly financial results and articulates variances and recovery plans where appropriate
Leads the annual budget process to develop financial plans that are both achievable and meet Corporation expectations.
Accountable for proper procedures, policies and controls being in place in order to maintain adequate internal controls. Oversees the administration of all internal and external reporting with assurance that Generally Accepted Accounting Practices are in place.
Identifies and leads projects to reduce working capital
Conducts financial reviews/analysis as required
Oversees the proper staffing of all accounting positions.
Ensures technically qualified personnel are placed in all Finance Team positions and has training and development programs available for all team members
Leads and performs investment analysis on potential capital purchases, long-term commercial agreements, business partnerships, etc. Monitors their implementation and the return on investment
Challenges Division Management Team to deliver optimal outcomes that benefit division financial performance and strategic growth
Ensures the financial reporting in all regions is accurate and efficient and reflects the Divisions global activities appropriately
Escalates financial and operational risks to Division Management Team and leads quick mitigation actions.
Is a core member of the Division Management Team and as such is expected to represent the GM and the Divisions full global business interests at any business review.
Continually reviews the accounting requirements of the Division (including IT systems), and directs the development and installation of appropriate systems to maximise data accuracy and efficiency of collection/analysis.
Promotes engagement within the wider Division.
Responsible for all financials within the Division including Capital and Opex projects.
Leading operational and internal business reviews.
Participation and active promotion of LEAN and associated events within the Division and wider Parker.
Promotes communications within the Division; and supports/creates communications initiative to better engage the workforce.
Qualifications
1. BS degree in accounting, finance, or economics or equivalent professional qualification
2. Advanced degree preferred.
3. 7-10 years experience in general and cost accounting area.
4. Must continuously maintain the highest degree of integrity, customer service, throughput, quality, cost reduction and people productivity.
5. Has to demonstrate a keen and clear understanding in the Divisions strategy and business model
6. Ideal candidate is working towards or has completed a Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Business/Management, or related areas of study preferredKey competencies:
Must be able to see the business holistically, not just at a functional level. A broad understanding of how the business chooses/deploys its strategy and makes money
Must be able to articulate the Divisions strategy and represent it at all levels of the organisation.
Must have a solid understanding and experience of global operating practices (culture, law, custom/practice) for the whole Division activities, not just financial
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend appropriate actions to business challenges
Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adopt to practical application
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices
