Environmental Scientist / Specialist

POWER Engineers Environmental Division provides planning, permitting, engineering, site assessment and corrective action services to clients worldwide. Across multiple industries, our diverse staff specialize in the areas of air, water, waste, ecological and cultural resources throughout our 45+ offices located across the country and internationally.

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist / Specialist to join our 250-person Environmental Practice working out of our Foxborough, Massachusetts office to support New England and Northeast projects, primarily in power delivery and energy.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful applicant must be a technical expert in their field and be capable of working collaboratively with interdisciplinary project teams, interfacing with clients and contractors, and managing multiple project tasks. This position has a mixture of office and field duties including environmental permitting and licensing; project constructability assessments; wetland delineation; erosion and sedimentation control specifications; and construction monitoring.

Required Education/Experience

+ Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Biology, or other related field

+ Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant work experience

+ Experience with field biology/ecology, licensing and permitting in CT, RI and MA

+ Able to handle multiple project assignments

+ Able to work independently and in a team atmosphere

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills

Desired Education/Experience

+ Experience with freshwater and coastal/marine systems is a plus

+ An established and successful history of environmental licensing and permitting in New England and New York is a plus

+ Construction inspection experience is a plus

+ Strong interpersonal skills will benefit the candidate
