Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/ Principal Mechanical Engineer. This position can be located in either Ogden, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with users, customers and other engineers.

This will include development, production and deployment of Launch Equipment hardware and systems for each weapon system facility.

**Roles and Responsibilities:**

+ Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipment.

+ Design of components/systems, and preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures.

+ Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers.

+ Assist Systems Engineering group to derive subsystem, element and unit level requirements

+ Develop ICD documentation of Launch Equipment subsystems

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline with 5 years of engineering experience; Or Master's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or STEM discipline with 3 years of experience; 0 years with a PhD
+ Active Secret clearance
+ Experience using NX, ProEngineer, Catia or other CAD software, for both solid model creation and 2D drawing and/or 3D Model-Based Definition creation

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Active Top Secret Security clearance
+ Experience using NX CAD and TeamCenter PLM software.
+ Familiarity with ICBM systems and support equipment.
+ Subsystem design experience, including, but not limited to, hydraulic, thermal, power distribution and mechanisms
