Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Director 1 to lead the GBSD Program's Special Projects sub-IPT, supporting the Payload Re-Entry Systems (PLT) IPT during GBSD program execution. This position will be located in Ogden, UT. To learn more about the GBSD program here

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

**Director of Programs 1 has the following duties and responsibilities:**

Directs, leads and manages all aspects of Special Projects technical, cost and schedule performance
Acts as the Program and Technical Team lead, and as such, provides technical direction, and supports cost and schedule performance, and participates in subcontractor negotiations and contract changes, with support from Global Supply Chain Subcontract Management Team Lead for the PLT IPT
Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
Directs special studies, interfaces with and supports Business Development, builds technology roadmaps. Develops new business
Acts point of contact with external government agencies/entities
Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
Directs the work of employees assigned to the sub-IPT from technical, program and administrative areas

**Qualifications:**

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Bachelor's degree in a technical related field and a minimum 12 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years experience.
- Demonstrated management experience leading, technical and complex program effort.
- Prior management experience with ICBM programs
- U.S. Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Clearance or higher

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- ICBM RS/RV experience
-Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
- Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers
- Familiarity with Northrop Grumman project execution, processes and procedures
- Active Top Secret or SSBI clearance, with clearance date after 1 Nov 2013 highly desired
