Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer Facilities. This position will be located in Promontory, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. To learn more about the GBSD program please click here

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Responsibilities include:

This position plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other activities related to facilities.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.



**Basic Qualifications:**
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and 9 years of engineering experience or Masters Degree Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and 7 years of engineering experience; or PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field and 4 years of engineering experience
Active current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Ability to provide technical assistance (i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommended construction methods, materials and equipment)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Experience working with Government and Air Force Customers
