Northrop Grumman is seeking a qualified Sr. Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for our Ogden, UT location. Applicant will apply the principles of engineering to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications. Primary focus will be on ICBM's and ground support equipment.

This includes the following duties, responsibilities, and qualifications:

+ Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical/aerospace products for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, missiles, ground vehicles and associated ground and test equipment
+ Design of components/systems, and preliminary/sizing analysis for both stress and dynamic analysis of aerospace structures
+ Preparation and presentation of reports, briefings, design documents (drawings and specifications) and interface with customers

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.



**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or a STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline plus 9 years of related experience; 7 years with Master of Science degree; 4 years with a PhD
+ Active Secret level security clearance (or higher) obtained or investigated within the past 5 years
+ Demonstrated experience using NX, ProEngineer, Catia or other CAD software, for both solid model creation and 2D drawing and/or 3D Model-Based Definition creation

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Active Top Secret Security clearance
+ Master of Science degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering
+ Experience using NX CAD and TeamCenter PLM software
+ Familiarity with ICBM and/or Space Craft systems and support equipment
+ Subsystem design experience, including, but not limited to, hydraulic, thermal, power distribution and mechanisms
