Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join the team. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here . Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

**What you will get to do:**
Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer in support of weapon system-based training. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Training Systems Team (TST). Provide systems engineering support to the TST Systems Engineering & Integration Lead for program design, development, and delivery of training equipment and simulators.

Roles and responsibilities:

+ Systems Engineer to generate model and architecture products for the development and maturation of software and hardware requirements for key Training Systems Equipment (TSE) CI and CSCI items for GBSD.
+ Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
+ Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
+ Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
+ Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.


**Basic Qualifications:**

+ For a Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 5 years of related experience, or 3 years of experience with a Master's degree
+ For a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field with 9 years of related experience, or 7 years of experience with a Master's degree
+ Active Secret Clearance
+ Strong Communications Skills, both verbal and written
+ Ability to read and understand technical requirements documents
+ Experience with Systems and Software Engineering development processes
+ Applying critical skills thinking when solving complex problems

**Preferred Qualifications** :

+ Familiarity with the Systems Engineering "Vee" processes
+ Familiarity and experience in developing requirements specifications and design documentation
+ Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering
+ Experience with the development of modeling and architecture requirements for Configured Items (CI) and Computer Software Configuration Items (CSCI).
+ Experience with the development of requirements and design for training simulations and training devices
+ Experience in the Systems Engineering "Vee" processes, including both developing and managing the development of engineering documentation (Requirements Specifications and Design Documents)
+ Experience developing and presenting the requirements and design at the formal customer review meetings, such as SRR, PDR, and CDR
+ Understanding of capturing and documenting hardware and software requirements within an MBSE environment
+ Experience with CAMEO
+ Experience working in an Agile development environment
+ Active Top Secret clearance
+ Travel: 0-10%
