Global Compliance Consultant, DLS

Join Amazon's HR team and help make a difference for all Amazonians! Disability and Leave Services (DLS) is currently looking for a Global Compliance Consultant, DLS to ensure that all leave of absence and accommodation standard work, processes, policies, and documents are compliant with regulatory requirements, best practices, and Amazon standards.

The Global Compliance Consultant, DLS will own and assist with various processes within the DLS team, including: consulting on process design and strategy sessions; drafting and reviewing employee-facing communications, standard operating procedures, plan documents, program control documents, and policies; ongoing maintenance and review of program materials and documents; monitoring changes to global leave and accommodation laws to ensure compliance of processes and documents; and consulting with stakeholders on complex or high-risk cases. This individual will be an integral team member working with our legal, compliance, business operations, and leadership to manage compliance issues related to all global DLS services.

The DLS organization is growing rapidly and will require someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The Global Compliance Consultant, DLS will need to have the ability to research, understand, and operationalize regulatory obligations, excel at prioritizing their workload, have strong attention to detail, and be able to quickly earn trust across various stakeholders.

As the Global Compliance Consultant, DLS you will:
· Be responsible for the creation and maintenance of various communications and process documents related to leave and accommodation.
· Partner with other compliance and legal stakeholders to create documentation or notifications that meet regulatory obligations.
· Be responsible for tracking and researching legal and regulatory requirements that impact the DLS program.
· Consult with policy, process, and system owners to ensure content is up to date and accurate.
· Develop a standardized, recurring process to review and update global policies and program documents.
· Translate complex business concepts into clear, concise and appealing content.
· Partner closely with the Sr. Compliance Consultant to develop ongoing compliance controls for the DLS organization.
· Work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.
· Meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, and maintain a strong attention to detail to meet organizational objectives and quality measures.
· Respond to questions and escalations that may involve policy, plan, practice, and program for issues experienced by employees, managers, and HR.
· Manage new compliance projects as needs arise
· Must be able to travel 25%, as necessary


· 5+ years of experience in Compliance, HR, or Legal
· 2+ years of experience working with absence, leave, disability, return to work, and accommodations
· Experience communicating to a diverse, global audience
· Experience managing a global compliance or risk program
· Experience developing policies and supporting documentation
· Bachelor€™s degree


· Substantial experience in an HR, compliance, or risk management role
· Specific experience with European leaves, accommodation, and compliance will be an advantage
· Bilingual or multilingual, with skills to interpret content in either of below languages, besides advanced English language communication skills is highly preferred: Spanish, French, Arabic, Czech, Polish, German, Portuguese.
· Experience drafting policies, standard operating procedures, internal guidance, and legally-mandated letters
· Master€™s Degree or Juris Doctorate
· Excellent writing and editing skills
· Ability to interface with all levels of the organization, specific strength in setting and managing expectations
