Assembly Inspector 2, Electro-Mechanical
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a talented and motivated individual for our assembly inspection team in Charlottesville, VA. This position will support the inspection function in our AS2 assembly area as well as providing support for other areas as needed.
Roles and responsibilities:
+ Perform in-process and final inspections on maritime navigation and control units to include a review of the associated product build documentation.
+ Confirm acceptable quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning/practicing process specifications and using workmanship standards during everyday job functions.
+ Identify discrepant conditions and generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.
+ Maintain records of results.
+ The use of common tooling such as calipers, tape measures and multi meters for inspection will be required for this position.
+ Must be available to work overtime as needed
Basic qualifications:
+ High School Diploma/equivalent
+ 2 + years of experience in mechanical inspection, assembly, machining, or other equivalent experience: or and Associates degree in Mechanical engineering, Machining or, Manufacturing with 1+ year of relevant experience or related bachelors degree.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
+ Excellent written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
+ Strong work ethic and good attitude it should be evident from output of work that the best possible effort was given.
+ Personal initiative to become engaged in assigned work area without needing to be coached or led to next assignment.
+ Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
+ Previous experience working in ISO-certified company and using Process Specifications or Military Standards to perform inspection or work activities.
+ Ability to learn new computer programs/applications.
+ Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds from cart to table.
+ Ability to focus and communicate over ambient noise.
+ Ability to work 1st and or 2nd shift
Preferred Qualifications:
+ AS/BS or higher
+ IPC 610/620 Workmanship Certification
+ J-STD-001 Certification
+ Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications
+ Ability to read engineering documentation such as drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions.
+ Experience with SAP/MES interfaces
+ Experience with CAD/CAM and 3D Modeling Software
+ Experience inspecting maritime navigation and control units
MAQEA
Salary Range: $37,700.00 - $62,800.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
