Major Duties
The duties include all those associated with tool & die machinists and die changers, plus the following: Deploy and maintain Natural Team(s) HPT model for assigned functional areas including team leadership as required.
Develop and maintain appropriate visual management boards to set and monitor daily, weekly and monthly performance targets related to press availability and uptime.
First line leadership of hourly associates in assigned functional area.
Assist with the set-up, operation and die changeover of department equipment and tools.
Organize and complete job paperwork and other administrative tasks, as needed.
Troubleshoot and assist production in setups and first piece and dimensional part challenges
Assist in performing daily routine and preventive maintenance of department equipment and tools.
Develop, maintain, and manage tool & die preventive maintenance plans.
Train new employees as required.
Facilitate cross-training of personnel as required.
Hold daily pre-shift meetings.
Receive instructions and assignments from VSM and transmit them to department employees.
Help to expeditiously and safely solve work-related problems, equipment and process malfunctions, and material availability via the HPT model.
Continuously monitor and assess department processes and procedures from the perspective of efficiency, productivity, safety and quality via Team Improvement Boards
Ensure that the department operational and contiguous areas are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
Promote and follow the 5S system.

Ability to troubleshoot complex part forming challenges and perform all functions of workers in assigned area and
Ability to lead a team and maintain a team-oriented environment.
Ability to teach, train, assess, counsel and mentor others.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma and/or GED.
HPT Leader Training (obtain w/in one year)
Front Line Leader Training (obtain w/in one year)
Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
