Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Low Observables Field Technician 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

The selected individual will join a small team with different and complementary Low Observable specialty skills to learn and execute repairs or modifications to aerospace systems at the development location in order to execute them in the field. Must be proficient in reading and following technical manuals, or repair manuals. Must be able to communicate effectively with design engineers and work closely with other aerospace specialties when learning and testing the functionality of new repair procedures or processes. Expected to be part of a team that develops installation procedures, steps and redlines drawings for newly designed parts or components. Once the newly designed part or component is ready to be installed on operational assets, the selected individual will be expected to accompany the retrofit and modification team to the field where they will execute the install or repair and provide training or instructions to available technicians for follow on maintenance when required. The candidate must have a deep and diverse mechanical background in aviation systems and sub-systems. The amount of time spent in the field is expected to change with the amount of system modifications or repairs executed. The candidate must be accepting of an erratic travel schedule, willing to travel overseas to potentially remote locations on short notice.

**Qualifications:**

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of Low Observables production, maintenance, repair or modification experience on military or test aircraft.

+ Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and program access as required.

+ Must be willing to work any shift, overtime or non-standard work schedule as needed with travel up to 10% of the time.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Minimum 10 years of direct Low Observables application with prior training experience.

+ Top Secret clearance

+ Knowledge of procedures and techniques related to surface preparation: sealers, fillers, and tapes.

+ Knowledge of blueprints, operation sheets, specifications and production illustrations.
