UW Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a full time, day shift CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT to join our Neurosurgery Clinic in North Seattle. Our Neurosurgery Clinic provides a wide range of care, ranging from slipped discs and scoliosis to minimally invasive surgery for tumors and blood clots. The Medical Assistant will perform patient care duties, assist with back office responsibilities, and support patients with a broad range of neurological diseases and disorders.

SCHEDULE:
The Medical Assistant will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This is a no weekends, no holidays position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Bring patients to exam rooms and document heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight
  • Obtain patient history, determine patient needs, and prepare patient to see the medical provider
  • Administer medication and phone in pharmacy refills
  • Oversee prior authorizations
  • Administer injections and EKGs
  • Answer questions and follow through on patient inquiries

  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board; OR equivalent education/experience

  • LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Interim Certification in the State of Washington
