RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Working in partnership with loan asset management teams the Vice President will oversee/manage positions across the credit portfolio, with a focus on ensuring a consistent approach to strategy, analysis and reporting across the regions.  This position will require collaboration with all internal stakeholders to ensure that insightful, value-add analysis on the portfolio is developed and a comprehensive understanding of strategies and underlying assets is shared.

 

Key Priorities / Focus Areas

 

Portfolio Management:  Create and maintain tools to support the oversight of portfolio performance and drive accretive decision making to both enhance fund / firm returns and mitigate risk

  • Create dynamic models able to run impacts to the Funds / portfolios with various sensitivities to determine optimal returns for outperformance

Streamline Reporting:  Coordinate with Asset Management teams and STRATS Engineering:

  • Develop and support unified modeling, data systems/reporting and aggregation systems
  • Leverage technology to generate value-add reporting for Business Unit leadership, Asset Management and Portfolio Management groups, and the Alternative Capital Markets and Strategy team
  • Provide in an organized, efficient and consistent manner to:
    • Regular and ad-hoc Credit Department reports and supporting data
    • Global BP schedule, including the preparation on Portfolio Overviews/Roll-ups, and Fed reporting data and supporting reports

Infrastructure Uplift:  Work with the Asset Management teams to revamp and standardize:

  • Loan Business Plan models, with an eye to having templates pre-populated from centralized database and CFs stored in a centralized database
  • Global data input and storage systems, with a focus on centralizing one source of truth vs current situation of multiple input systems and databases
  • Data fields for key definitions (e.g. LTV, NOI, Performing etc.)

Fund Management:  Coordinate with numerous internal and external constituents to facilitate all aspects of fund operations including supporting:

  • Deal teams with new acquisitions, portfolio construction, and investment onboarding, Fundraising and financing teams with capital raising initiatives including preparation of marketing materials and responses to diligence requests
  • Fund reporting teams with cash management, financing management and investor reporting, including the quarterly valuation process
  • Work with the Fund Financing team to source, structure, and execute a variety of bespoke capital commitment and asset backed fund financings

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university
  • 6+ years of experience working with real estate credit portfolios with investment valuations
  • Prior experience working for or with private equity real estate firms, big 4 accounting, REITs, or Core Funds a major plus
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment; set prioritization for the team
  • Strong project management skills as well as ability to manage senior leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and all Word products
