Nursing Assistant II, Med Surg - 221219-50007206

1. Participates in the nursing process during delivery of patient care.
2. Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse. 
3. Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. 
4. Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
5. Assists in orientation of other personnel to the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
6. Participates in at least four unit staff meetings per year, attends mandatory programs. 
7. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
8. Assesses personal and learning development needs.  Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served. 
9. Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
10. Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

• Ability to read, write and communication in English
• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
  1. Successful completion a Nursing Assistant Program
  2. Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program
  3. Successful completion of an EMT Program
  4. Successful completion of an LPN Program
  5. Successful completion of at least one year of an accredited Nursing School Program
  6. Equivalent clinical Military experience

• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• Successful passage of CPI training within 6 months of hire and must maintain recertification annually.
• Successful passage of the Cape Cod Hospital written competency exam for NAII.
