General Description | The Continuing Education Department is seeking a part-time instructor to teach our Pharmacy Technician certificate program. This course prepares students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Boards PTCB exam. The incumbent will be responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom or laboratory setting according to the program objectives. Must possess a pharmacist license. Topics covered include: structure and function of the human body, medical terminology, drug classifications, pharmacy calculations and measurements, practice in multiple environments, processing orders and prescriptions, handling sterile products and inventory control and billing. |
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities | Provide quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory. |
Education Requirements | Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Pharmacy from a four-year college or university or related field |
Experience | A minimum of three (3) years as a Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacist |
Competencies and Skills Required | Excellent communications skills and hands-on experience and expertise. |
Physical Demands and Work Environment | This positions duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Some travel required. |

Terms of Employment | Continuing Education courses will be held at campus locations in Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield. Must be available evenings. Weekend opportunities may occur. |
