The Crew Systems Engineer will support the development and integration of hardware within the Crew Systems area of responsibility, including cargo and/or payload, into the Habitation and Logistics Outpost HALO module. Responsibilities include definition of hardware requirements and specifications, development of subcontractor Statement of Work (SOW), coordination of hardware resources needed and Concept of Operations (ConOps) with subcontractors and subsystem leads, development of Interface Control Documents, installation drawings, layouts, and requirements and verification documentation for both internal and external Crew Systems hardware, cargo and/or payload. They will support the CAM / Crew Systems manager in a systems engineering capacity by performing all needed assessments and analysis of the hardware and manifested logistics to be integrated as well as being the technical point of contact interfacing with the hardware subcontractors. This individual will also serve in the role of Crew Systems integrator by supporting cargo and/or payload loading and hardware integration on the vehicle.

The Crew Systems engineer will support planning meetings with customer and internal team to take initial manifest through development of a draft layout to the analyzed and CAD modeled final layout for launch. Additionally, support of Human Systems Integration (HSI) activities in the form of logistics support, hardware procurement, provisioning for human-in-the-loop testing/reporting, and sub-contractor interaction and oversight to ensure successful crew interface design. Usability testing, user interaction design, and/or Human Factors research experience preferred.

**Qualifications:**

This position may be filled at a Principal or Sr. Principal level depending on the skills and experience of the candidate.

**Basic Qualifications:**

Principal Crew Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field and 5+ years of experience, or Master's degree and 3 + years of experience.

Sr. Principal Crew Systems Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Astronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent field and 9+ years of experience, or Master's degree and 7 + years of experience.

+ Able to work beyond normal work hours (including extended shift work) to meet operational requirements.
+ Travel up to 10 percent of the time and remain deployed for up to three weeks consecutively working long hours as may be required to support cargo/Crew Systems ground operations.
+ Prior Human Space Flight experience.
+ The individual shall possess the ability to read specifications, design drawings and operations manuals, generate design concepts that meet established Northrop Grumman and customer specifications and requirements, and effectively communicate engineering concepts and attributes, verbally, in writing, and via multi-media as may be required, in both one-on-one and in group situations.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master's degree in Mechanical, Bio-mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field and 5-10 years with years working in Human Spaceflight
+ Cargo manifesting and analytical integration.
+ Human space flight operations
+ Human Factors Analyses (workload, situation awareness, and usability metrics and reporting)
+ Familiarity with Human System standards and specifications (MIL-STD 1472, NASA-STD 3001/3001.
+ Training and/ or proficiency with CAD or other 3D modeling tools, preferably PTC Creo Parametric
+ Experience with spacecraft payload or hardware integration and/or NASA ISS Flight Control Team experience.
