Propulsion Systems is currently seeking an experienced **Principal Tooling Project Enginee** r for Propulsion Systems Manufacturing and Development of Case Products at our Freeport Center facilities in **Clearfield, Utah** .

**Role description & Responsibilities:**

The tooling Value Stream Element Team (VSET) Project manager is responsible for the coordination of tooling activities and functions as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) in support of program specific tooling projects. This individual will support the successful delivery of a family of manufacturing tools through overall ownership and accountability to that product's value stream element team (VSET).

The tooling project manager's primary focus is to support the design, manufacture and delivery of a defect free, highest value tool that satisfies customer requirements by focusing on and effectively integrating all elements and disciplines of the tooling team.

Works closely with senior engineers and supply chain team to plan and guide the purchase requisition process as well as purchase order placement and status during fabrication. Also works closely with tool engineers, designers, and program VSET leads to manage and report status of the tooling project by program. Plans and helps manage the life cycle of the tooling project to ensure effective execution and delivery of the tools in support of production and strategic goals.

**Job Duties:**

+ Project management and resource coordination of tooling projects
+ Support program VSET meetings and actions
+ CAM - Budget and schedule tracking
+ Participate in the review, acceptance and budget approval of new tool requests/projects
+ Work with program office to process Program Change Requests (PCR) for budget, scope or schedule
+ Support new Program Kick-Off's, planning and tool requirements generation
+ Work with lead engineers to coordinate tool design and engineering resources
+ Track tool engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, delivery and incorporation into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
+ Work with engineers to generate cost estimates and support new business proposals
+ Initiate and lead value enhancement and waste elimination efforts for associated with the tooling project utilizing lean principles for continuous improvement


**Job Requirements/Competencies:**

+ Bachelor's degree in related engineering, engineering technology discipline with 5 years of experience or 3 years and MS - advanced degree in engineering and/or business management a plusPosition can be filled one level higher, BA and 9 years of experience or 7 years with MS
+ Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and coordination across multiple Value Streams, sites, and customers to successfully execute program objectives on multiple programs
+ Demonstrated ability to work with external suppliers and guide them to meet delivery needs
+ 5 or more years' experience in engineering, program management, production, Supply Chain, Safety and/or mission assurance roles where the candidate has developed a well-rounded background and understanding of our business and the product lifecycle
