Project Control Manager Area LeadJob Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers, Inc Facilities Business Unit, Program Management Department, is currently seeking a Project Control Manager to work out of our Boise, Idaho office.

+ Acts as an Area Lead managing and providing training to project control specialists in the following areas:

+ Scheduling

+ Procurement

+ Bid Management

+ Materials Management

+ Purchase Requisitions

+ RFI Management

+ Specifications Management

+ Construction Document Control

+ Cost Control

+ Cash Flow Forecasting

+ Invoicing

+ Project Accounting

+ Estimating

+ Construction Administration (CA)

+ Find resources and help in the hiring process

+ Project Manage CA projects

+ Spend time in the field at clients plants to fill in resource gaps

+ Define CA documentation requirements

+ Fosters and develops relationships with Project Managers, Departments and Business Units to utilize project control tools and processes at the appropriate level to maximize project success.

+ Position will oversee and develop systems for progress reporting, maintenance capital

+ project overview, earned value reports, developing project controls and construction project budgets, managing subcontractors, change orders, managing and reporting on budgetary performance of projects, preparing alternative budget projection scenarios and project invoicing procedures.

+ Provides guidance, supervision, and resolves issues for other project controls specialist personnel in multiple locations.

+ Provides guidance to resolve unusual or complex issues.

+ Builds relationships, seeks out new opportunities, and promotes project controls role to support internal and external clients.

+ Provides Business Development support as requested.

+ Able to review basic RFPs and contribute to the project controls content of the work plan, budget and schedule on proposals.

+ This role requires periodic travel to client sites to provide close coordination with Plant Personnel and the Client to support the successful support on construction activity. This role may require management of parallel multiple plant projects from concept development and approval, detailed design, construction, and startup. Position requires close coordination with the Plant Project Team and may require serving as the Client PM for all aspects of project delivery.

+ This role will have an organizational focus on leading, implementing and executing our total project control efforts with capital project scheduling and cost control.

+ Travel, throughout the US as required.

+ The candidate will extensively utilize Prolog (or equivalent) project management software, along with MS Project and ideally Primavera P6.

+ The candidate will be expected to support and lead, as required, independent business development efforts for Program Management in the region.

+ The candidate will be expected to be billable while managing the group of Project Controls Specialists.

+ The candidate will represent POWER with Construction Industry Institute (CII) and be actively engaged in this organization.

Required Education/Experience

+ Minimum of 10 years direct construction or A&E consulting experience in the Food & Beverage or industrial and facilities energy industry.

+ 5+ years of project controls & construction (EPC) experience.

+ At minimum an AS in Construction Management or BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering Discipline from an accredited institution.

+ Must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communications skills.

+ Ideal candidate will be a self-starter, work independently, and be willing to travel to client sites and other POWER offices to manage team members.

+ Experience will include development and tracking of schedules, budgets with cost analysis, construction administration, proposal writing & presentation skills.

Desired Education/Experience

+ Ideal candidate will have experience with managing project controls and field installations for Engineer/Procure/Construct (EPC) Food & Beverage and other industrial or facilities energy client capital projects.

+ Software familiarity with MS Office Suite, MS Project, Prolog cost control and document management system by Trimble, and/or Primavera P6 & Contract Manager is preferred.

+ PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or intent to obtain is preferred.

+ Existing Food &Beverage or industrial and facility energy personnel relationships preferred.

+ CII Front End Planning best practices knowledge is preferred.
