Role Overview
This position is for a seasoned
Quality professional . Works as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of responsibility. May manage Quality Assurance processes and / or projects. Uses experience and knowledge to influence processes, standards, and plans to continuously improve quality.
Essential / Key Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for the functioning and integrity of the sites quality processes and systems supporting the FAA / EASA 145 Repair Station approvals.
Responsible for ensuring AS9110 Quality Management System implementation and compliance;
Manages internal audit program including AS9110, Regulatory and product audits
Coordinates and maintains the Quality Management System documentation and records.
Prepares and leads Quality Management Reviews.
Point of Contact for Regulatory Authorities and external customers regarding system compliance (e.g. audits) and reporting on audit findings in a timely manner.
Prepares revisions to regulatory documents including Delegation of Authority, Regulatory Manuals, Employee Summaries, and Employee Rosters.
Ensures non-conforming product is properly identified, segregated, reviewed, and disposed in accordance with customer requirements
Manages the Corrective Action Board (CAB) program to ensure proper root-cause analysis and corrective/ preventive actions are implemented to address non-conformances.
Maintains records and checks on calibration of precision test equipment and inspection tools
Ensures no defective or non-airworthy parts are installed in components or are released by the site
Evaluates incoming customer returns and damaged (quarantined) product. Completes Component Disposition Reports as required. Manages the Quarantine area.
Oversees or performs inspection on subcontracted work to ensure compliance with FAA / EASA regulatory requirements and/or all customer specifications
Responsible for the proper execution FAA / EASA maintenance release certification
Maintains current or pertinent FAA / EASA specifications, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), customer engineering orders, technical data, manufacturing component maintenance manuals (CMMs), service bulletins, service letters, FAA aviation publications and all other technical documents which are distributed by customer/original equipment manufacturer (OEM) technical data departments or Landing Systems headquarters
Trains and coaches component technicians/inspectors relative to inspection, AS9110 and NDI processes
Manages the site Approved Supplier Program
Monitors quality-related metrics in the work area; takes appropriate and timely action when metrics indicate downward trends or fall below acceptable limits. Maintains First Pass Yield metric and Delivered Quality metric
Consistently demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement; actively participates and supports continuous improvement events
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Preferred qualifications:
An in-depth knowledge of FAA / EASA Part 145 regulations, and Coordinating Agency for Supplier Evaluation (CASE) 1A requirements, AS9110 QMS standard
Familiarity with magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and eddy current inspection practices
Qualified to ASNT-TC-1A or equivalent standards for NDI disciplines
Hold a repairman certification and/or Aircraft Maintenance Technician license
Experience in aerospace MRO related business
Knowledgeable in quality assurance and quality control processes and procedures
Experience using precision measuring equipment
Familiarity with AS 9100 / 9110 (Aerospace Standards)
Demonstrated success in planning, directing, and organizing inspection functions
Root cause analysis problem solving skills
Mechanical aptitude
Advanced mathematical comprehension skills
Demonstrated success leading and motivating others
Demonstrated success as a team member
Training experience
Ability to speak, write, read and interpret the English language
