**Description:**
**Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Research Associate I (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Lung Cancer Research at Swedish Research in Seattle, WA.**
_This position is responsible for the retrieval, analysis and summarization of research information from literature and research data and assisting the Principal Investigator with preparations for the development of new research grants and manuscripts. This position performs quality control oversight on research data as well as medical record abstract and provides technical assistance to investigators and consultants._
**In this position you will:**
+ Prepares initial drafts of scientific manuscripts which may include original research manuscripts and abstracts, review articles and book chapters with oversight by the Research Scientist and/or Director of Cardiovascular Research. Adheres to production target dates.
+ Assists with preparing data sets for statistical analysis. Collaborates with Database Specialist to obtain pertinent data for preparing data set. Ensures accuracy and completeness of analytical data set development. Maintains complete documentation for all analysis (organize file outputs). Creates data tables summarizing results from analysis.
+ Completes initial draft of original research manuscript summarizing literature review, methodology procedures. Edits manuscripts based on PI/co-authors suggestions. Prepares manuscript in accordance with author guidelines of target journal.
+ Manages oversight of editorial reviews of submitted manuscripts, including editing and final proofreading. Assists with electronic submission process as defined by author guidelines of target journal.
+ Creates figures for manuscript illustrations.
+ Assists PI by identifying funding opportunities, preparing and submitting grant applications, grant writing and preparation.
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications for this position include:**
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Graduation from medical school, graduate school or other research professional program with documented research training
+ 2 years research experience
**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**
+ Master's degree in Epidemiology or Biostatistics or equivalent degree.
+ Ph.D. in Epidemiology or Biostatistics or equivalent degree.
+ M.D. in Epidemiology or Biostatistics or equivalent degree.
