Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is recruiting for a **Manufacturing Operator (Second Operator)** to join its **Environmental Waste Disposal** team at the Bacchus (Magna), Utah facility.
Performs activities/tasks associated with Solid/Hazardous and Energetic Waste Disposal in the Environmental Operations group at our Magna Utah facility. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost and scheduling of the team. May be required to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
**Essential functions, responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:**

+ Demonstrated skills and aptitude to safely and efficiently perform critically detailed and meticulous hands-on work, while meeting established timelines and costs.
+ Ability to understand and be accountable for handling, storage, and disposal of all waste processes to required regulated compliance standards.
+ Safe and competent operation of all equipment which includes, box trucks, water trucks, forklifts, tractor, sweeper and other equipment utilized in area.
+ Physical ability to individually lift objects up to 50 pounds. This job requires frequent walking, lifting and getting in and out of equipment several times a day.
+ Ability to read, clearly interpret, and accurately follow procedures, standard work instructions, work orders, ensuring all requirements are met.
+ Certify and sustain all environmental training requirements associated with the area.
+ Proficient and accurate in performing basic math calculations to account for waste burned at the burning grounds and waste water collection processes to meet permit and company requirements.
+ Complete and sustain sound proficiencies in all required training, including skill based training
+ Ability to function effectively in all-weather/temperature environments, majority of work is performed outside
+ Other duties as assigned by leadership


**Basic Qualifications:**

Requires a high school diploma or GED.
2 or more years of previous RCRA experience with chemical handling and or reactive/explosive operations.
Must be a US citizen.
Able to acquire Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
Must possess a valid state driver's license

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Knowledgeable of environmental regulatory requirements such as EPA and DOT
HAZWOPER certification, or ability to obtain
Safe operating practices with chemicals and reactive/energetic substances
Ability to work in varied environments
Ability to complete thorough inspections and exact paperwork
The ability to think critically and innovatively
Assist the training of new and lower classification operators through on-the-job coaching and mentoring
Effectively and constructively communicate with personnel including leadership, coworkers and support team members
Work to enhance the safety, quality, cost and scheduling performance within the work area
