Amazon's database offerings like Aurora, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, EMR, RDS, RedShift are massively scaled services that make up a critical piece of the internet today. This is an excellent opportunity to join Amazon's world class technical team in either Seattle, WA or Herndon, VA, working with some of the best and brightest engineers and technical managers within one of the most innovative and progressive technology companies ever.

The DBS MVP team is looking for an experienced, passionate and results oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to coordinate and lead efforts across multiple technology and Compliance initiatives. You will provide support and coordination in developing solutions to enhance internal processes, programs and measures to drive growth and efficacy. DBS MVP is a multi-functional team who support Database and Analytics product suites for governmental and other highly-regulated customers, helping them succeed at the most critical missions on Earth.

As a TPM on the DBS MVP team you will lead projects and programs spanning infrastructure, tooling, and new offerings to ensure that our systems and services scale to meet diverse customer requirements in restricted access regions. You will also drive process and technology improvements that reduce friction for engineers and proactively address issues that help AWS meet a range of customer needs globally. You will enjoy working backwards from the customer to solve big technical challenges and drive stakeholder communication. You will work across business, product, and engineering teams to balance technical trade-offs, cost, and development schedules to delight our customers.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

This position can be based in Arlington, VA, Herndon, VA, Denver, CO or Seattle, WA.

Arlington, VA: This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. Our employees and the neighboring community will also benefit from the associated investments from the Commonwealth including infrastructure updates, public transportation improvements, and new access to Reagan National Airport.

DENVER, CO: The pay range for this position in Colorado is $113,004 - $160,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience working independently to design, plan, and execute technical projects to make difficult trade-offs and prioritization
  • 5+ years of experience with engagement and working with stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience in service-oriented and web-service technologies
  • 6+ years of experience in technical program management, or similar technical leadership role
  • 5+ years of experience with software development life-cycle from conception to delivery
  • Proven experience in managing large scale enterprise projects, gathering and communicating technical requirements
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge of technical program management and engineering best practices
  • Experience driving overall strategy and teams across organizations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
  • Handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
