Position Summary

This position will report directly to the Global Supply Chain Manager with strong dotted-line accountability to the Business Unit Manager. Will manage the complete material control process including procurement, production and inventory control. Will interact with all levels of Division management, including operational, engineering, quality control, marketing and finance. Will coordinate best practices with Division Supply Chain Managers and Group Supply Chain Management. Key supplier and key customer contact is essential.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and manage all procurement and materials management activities including order placement, supplier reduction/evaluation/certification, supplier follow-up, price negotiation and compliance with government procurement regulations.

+ Matrix responsibilities for Production Plannings manufacturing resource-planning activities. These activities need to help achieve division sales and ACIP objectives and maintain 100% on-time customer deliveries. Matrix responsibilities for personnel involved with the MRP database to achieve and maintain a high degree of data accuracy, integrity, and ownership.

+ Implement Kanban, materials requirement planning technique at Glendale with coordination with supply base

+ Improve outside vendor supply coordination and improve vendor TAT to support Glendale TAT

+ Accountable for site materials metrics and Standards of Performance.

+ Help define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery to support a supply chain management strategy.

+ Ensure all the sites material management policies are consistent with the inventory control objectives of the Corporation

+ Facilitate corporate purchasing and materials initiatives including common part numbers, supplier managed inventory, consolidated purchasing agreements, supplier reduction and supplier quality certifications.

+ Advise on supplier managed inventory or supplier based contracts with customers.

+ Support internal or external audit requirements relative to the planning, procurement or inventory control functions.

+ Effectively create and sustain procurement to delivery material and system cost reduction programs.

+ Provide professional development for all materials team members. Explain and support company policies and procedures.

+ Benchmark world class supplier management systems and implement best practices

+ Actively support and implement lean principles

+ Support supply chain growth strategies for Parker and AAT aftermarket including NPI, R&D, technical, supplier development, advancing manufacturing and quality.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related business or technical discipline, and eight or more years of progressive experience within the specialty area. Demonstrated ability to perform the described role and responsibilities and obtain the desired results. Certification or a professional designation in a specialty area (e.g. APICS) may be required or preferred depending on position requirements.
+ Four or more years of increasing responsibility for leadership within manufacturing operations requiring advanced project planning and team organizational skills.
+ Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives. Capable of assessing and developing individual and team skills and capabilities. Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals. Serve as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change.
+ Thorough understanding of production technology, and/or specialty support areas including broad knowledge of business and regulatory environments and trends.
