Position


We are seeking an experienced Design Strategist to help identify and validate business opportunities that represent the next-generation of Aerospace applications, products and services. As a lead of cross-functional teams, you will determine the appropriate activities to qualify or quantify the business impact of ideas while managing business stakeholder expectations. Strategists must be adaptable to fast-changing situations, adept at answering tough questions from business partners, and diplomatic in their assessment of the business needs.




You will be trusted to work with limited supervision from a director. You must be pro-active and independent in running your aspect of projects, and confident in making critical decisions when information may be incomplete or conflicting.




Primary responsibilities



+ Lead and collaborate with cross-functional team of designers, product managers, engineers, data scientists, and project managers.


+ Structure, scope and lead quantitative and qualitative research to identify actionable insights including survey analysis, and customer segmentation, to competitive audits, strategic frameworks.


+ Create compelling product strategy from clear definition of users and their needs to the business case and rational for investment.


+ Develop strategies for ongoing product optimization including continuous customer feedback.


+ Structure, prepare, and lead creative and strategic workshops with senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications



+ MBA (or equivalent)


+ Excellent analytical, verbal, writing and presentation skills. Must be comfortable standing in front of C- and VP-level executives to conduct deliverable presentations, and be able to debate, discuss and defend our work


+ Strong financial analysis/business case development skills; strong numerical analysis and statistics skills; SPSS a plus


+ 5+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, product management, or product strategy.


+ Prior exposure to design thinking methods/tools is a nice-to-have, but not essential


+ Prior experience in identifying and delivering on growth opportunities and bringing products or services to market


+ Hands on research expertise, quantitative methods (surveys, focus groups, quantitative analysis) is a plus


+ Experience in Aerospace is a plus





Education Requirements



+ BA/BS with +7 years of experience or Advanced Degree with +5 years experience
