**Description:**
**Providence is calling a Supervisor, Sterile Processing (1.0 FTE, Variables) to work in Sterile Processing at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.**
Manage staff, processes, supplies, and quality improvement projects of Sterile Processing to ensure the highest quality of services is delivered. Manage regular, on-call and float staff. Provide clinical and operation leadership. Negotiate and manage supply resources in conjunction with PRMCE Purchasing. Oversee information systems necessary for SPD functioning in conjunction with Information Services. Evaluate and assure new technology. Supervisor will be active clinically as well as manage the processes.
**In this position you will:**
+ Staff scheduling and department coverage:
+ Department is staffed to manage workload.
+ Collaborate effectively with staff to assure the provision of services.
+ Identify and address clinical and operational issues that impact the provision of services.
+ Assure appropriate staffing levels and consistency of patient care by the assignment of resources appropriately.
+ Identify clinical and operational issues and address them in a timely and appropriate manner.
+ Be informed regarding unit specific quality activities and data.
+ Staff time and hours:
+ Comply with time and pay practices, to ensure staff paid correctly.
+ Monitoring and changing Policies and Procedures:
+ Policy and Procedures are up to date and evidenced based on science and follow the AORN and AMII Standards.
+ Employee performance:
+ Employee evaluations completed in timely manner.
+ Collaborate with the manager/director in employee performance evaluation.
+ Oversee orientation of new staff, document competency upon completion of orientation and maintain documentation of competencies, orientation etc.
+ Oversee staff scheduling process.
+ Adhere to all labor contracts and HR policies and procedures.
+ Ensure Value-Based Standards and Behaviors are modeled and demonstrated by all staff.
+ Maintains Professional growth and development:
+ Staff oriented, competent and trained to do job assigned.
+ Maintain a strong clinical knowledge base by attending seminars and educational offerings, reading journals, and networking with peers.
+ Develop leadership and management skills in a planned approach.
**Qualifications:**
**Required qualifications:**
+ H.S. Diploma or GED **-or-** equivalent educ/experience
+ 2 years Sterile Processing experience
+ Sterile processing technician certificate
+ Central Service technician certificate
+ Scrub Tech certificate.
**Preferred** **qualifications:**
+ Management skills, knowledge of JCAHO, and state regulations
+ Ability to communicate effectively inter and intra departmentally
