Essential Functions
Position Summary:
Advocate and support the Corporate WIN Strategy by participating in the Supplier selection program regarding supplier capabilities and working with existing Suppliers to ensure full quality compliance.Scope/Supervision and Interaction:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Must have ability to deal with people at a cross-functional level. Position requires ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in order to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, customers, and the general public.Support New Product Development and current program changes including PPAPs and change request approvals.Process / Approve deviations, waivers and supplier change requests.Own / Maintain spreadsheets and documentation related to Supplier Quality.Establishes and maintains a Supplier quality system that is effective in producing, measuring and maintaining a supply base measured by DPPM.Ensures compliance to procedures outlined in the Supplier Quality Manual. Revises and implements changes as required.Participates in Supplier reviews / selection and provides input to Purchasing Department in regards to supplier quality. Communicates supplier quality system requirements to suppliers.Ensures reliability and accuracy of products provided by the supply base. Ensures that nonconforming material is dispositioned in a timely manner. Support receiving inspection and production line while focusing on quality issues, analysis, communication, corrective actions and continue to improve supplier qualityCoordinates with suppliers all initiatives relating to supplier quality performance. Tracks performance trends and performs quality trend analysis from supplier base and facilitates corrective actions as appropriate.Leads supplier development activities for dock-to-stock program.Utilizes lean manufacturing, error proofing, and continuous improvement initiatives to support Supplier base by assisting in development of robust processes that assures quality products and services.Provides support to customers relative to supply-based issues.Lead Risk Management activities with regards to the supply base
-Bachelors Degree Engineering and 2-5 years related experience (Quality Engineering preferred).- Must have PPAP and Supplier Development knowledge-Thorough knowledge of quality inspection and quality engineering/assurance techniques, procedures, instruments, equipment, theories, principles and concepts and general business operations.-Must have computer skills, be detailed oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritization skills.- Must have ability to effectively self-motivate, advocate risk based thinking, assess Suppliers processes, solve problems, assess and implement continuous improvement techniques to quality and manufacturing functions, to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools, to establish goals and objectives to complete projects, and to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Prefer DFMEA and PFMEA experience. Prefer ASQ Certification, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification, and/or ISO Internal Auditor Certification.
Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule
This position will be expected to travel around 20% of the time.
