Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. **Propulsion Systems** is currently seeking an experienced **Technical Team Supervisor** to assist our **Nozzle Value Stream** organization in the Tooling and Machining group at our **Promontory** facilities.

**Role Description and Responsibilities:**

This position is responsible for implementation of improvement initiatives, and managing and directing the operational support activities associated with leading a shop of machinists, welders and model makers into new tooling and facility technologies, maintaining current and develop new machining/fabrication processes. Will be responsible for long term employee improvement plans to support the needs of the company as well as continue to enforce all safety and quality standards. Additionally this TTS will be responsible to participate on the team as a machinist. The TTS must communicate effectively and initiate necessary actions to ensure that organizational goals are accomplished. As part of the leadership of the shop the successful candidate will be required to assist in building a strong and progressive forward looking team.

**Job Duties:**

+ Lead team of machinists while also performing machinist touch activity
+ Assist and or lead special projects for tooling and facility enhancements
+ Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and appropriate customers to safely produce quality product
+ Overtime is required, off-shift work is required

**Qualifications:**

**Experience Requirements:**

+ Candidate must have a minimum of 6 years of machining experience on large components
+ CNC programming experience
+ Understanding and application of GD&T is required
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and operating procedures Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to apply PES principles to improve process flow and standardization of processes
+ In depth understanding of component, tooling and facility shop processes
+ Agility to balance long term projects as well as emergency needs to support operations
+ Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and support teams
+ Proficient in the use of Electronic Shop Instructions (ESI)
+ Minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership (projects/personnel)

**Skills & Qualifications** **:**

+ Excellent written and oral communication skills
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills
+ Ability to understand and distribute resources i.e. manpower, budgets and facilities
+ Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture to ensure that organizational goals are accomplished
+ Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Proven ability to deal with customers, leadership, vendors and teams

**Education/Certifications**

+ Associate Degree - maybe considered if actively pursuing degree
+ Journey level machinist certification preferred
