Test Automation Lead

Do you love working with teams? Do you enjoy being in the middle of everything? The Test Automation Department (TAD) of Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) division of Raytheon Technologies is seeking an engineering leader with experience in executing and transitioning test equipment projects (both hardware and test software) across development and production. This position will reside in the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC).

This position is a notable role for Electro-Optical Distributed Aperture System (EODAS) program located in McKinney Texas, emphasizing test automation projects performing duties of critical analysis, metrics collection, meeting facilitations and Test Engineering Scrum Master duties. The ideal candidate should have a history of hands on engineering development of test systems to provide proper context and insight while leading the engineering team(s).

The Test Automation Lead will assist with the execution of test equipment schedule and deliverables (both hardware and test software), control account management (CAM), perform at a high operational tempo and demonstrate an ability to react quickly to changes in both the plan and/or priorities while maintaining follow through rigor that is appropriate to transitioning test equipment development and deployment from a low to high volume production environment.

This position will both implement test equipment projects (both hardware and software) directly and assist Integrated Product Team Leadership (IPTLs) as needed. The position will require regular contact and communication with program and higher level administration.

Responsibilities include providing assistance in CAM duties, program metrics analysis, program engagement, program execution and Scrum Master duties for Agile teams for development and deployment of test equipment hardware and software transitioning from a low to high volume factory throughput. These inputs will be vital for the teams to meet their customer needs and acceptance criteria.

Job Related Activities:

Assistance in Integrated Product Team Leadership responsibilities for the technical implementation of the test automation projects.

Communication and interface to program leadership and to both internal customers.

Assistant CAM duties to include cost and schedule responsibility for the production test control account, including task ownership, staffing coordination, variance analysis and earned value reporting. Coordination of resolution of engineering challenges through program and functional management.

Managing Test resources (including people, facilities, and equipment) efficiently to implement the teams test equipment plan.

Ensuring the consistent application of engineering best practice and all activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with Raytheon's Integrated Product Development Process (IPDS) processes.

Generate management overview slides (both technical and Estimated at Completion (EAC)) and present them to both program and functional direction.

Required Skills:

+ Minimum of 8+ years experience in Engineering, as a Team lead

+ Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transition to production environments with knowledge of Special Test Equipment (STE) hardware, software, firmware integration and test activities

+ Experience in Operations and Factory environments including: procedure development, test, transition planning, installation, and deployment

+ Experience with test hardware, software, firmware and/or STE supporting testing activities (Unit and Acceptance Testing (UT/AT), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Device Verification Test (DVT), etc.)

+ Demonstrated team leadership experience

+ Experience in working with cross site/WFH teams.

+ Experience in preparing management level briefings and summary explanations

+ Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication capability, and ability to work in an integrated product team environment

+ Demonstrated problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills

+ Excellent interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team

+ U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems

+ U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment.

Desired Skills:

+ o Knowledge of National Instruments products both hardware and software

+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Project

+ Experience in cost account management (CAM)

+ Experience with Agile utilization/environment

+ Experience in proposal development including BOE creations

+ Experience in generating technical documents

+ Proficient in Project, JIRA, Powerpoint, OneNote, Microsoft Teams, RTC, DOORS, Estaff, Visio

+ Ability to close on actions, drive change and empower team members to think outside the box

Required Education:

+ Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related technical discipline

+ Desired Education: Advanced degree in a related field
