Essential Functions
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Shared responsibility for finished goods meeting or exceeding customer expectations
Determine speeds, feeds, tolerances, and sequence of machine operations on a variety of machine tools.
Selects / shapes cutting and grinding tools.
Take bar stock of various metals, metal alloys, and other materials from raw stock to finished product
Make all setups and an adjustment to machines, making trial cuts as necessary.
Finishes metal by hand or machines.
Fits parts of assemblies with small hand and power tools and assembles individual parts to complete units.
Uses such specialized measuring instruments as calipers, inside and outside micrometers, surface gages, protractors, and dial indicators.
Use shop mathematics and standard handbook formulas to compute dimensions and layouts.
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines
Maintain work area in clean and orderly fashion, follow 5S practices
Report maintenance issues to Plant Engineer
Perform work of an equal or lower classification
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, recognizes International Diplomas (may need to be translated to English). College or trade preferred.
U.S. Citizen or permanent residency status required
Must be able to read work orders and interpret manufacturing specifications, understand and use shop math, use and interpret measuring instruments (calipers, stop watch, gauges, calculator, etc.)
Must be detail oriented and safety conscious.
Basic computer skills preferred
Must be able to demonstrate ability to operate department equipment
Must be able to adapt to production needs to satisfy customer demands
Must be able to work and communicate with peers
Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
