Position description
  • Supports planning for, and execution of, all aspects of operating transitions for MCS M&A transactions, including partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, separations and other strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Documents transition plans, synthesizing cross-functional due diligence findings, deal financial targets and the requirements of external counterparties.
  • Collects input from key stakeholders and reconciles to create coherent plans. Prepares transition service schedules or assembles comments on those prepared by external parties, as relevant, consolidating input from the MCS/Mayo Clinic cross-functional deal team.
  • Monitors performance against plan and prepares regular written reports on progress to MCS senior leadership using agreed KPIs.
  • Supports the Director, Transitions in coordinating MCSs relationship with transition counterparts in external organizations, e.g., joint venture partners or sellers.
  • Uses influencing skills in Mayo Clinics matrix organization to ensure collaboration across functional, service line and business unit teams, as needed. Excellent oral and written communication skills applied to ensure clarity of expectations on the part of Mayo Clinic teams and external constituents.
  • Uses program management best practices and tools, tracks and measures results, and identifies obstacles and flags them for resolution.
  • Domestic and international travel required, subject to restrictions related to the COVID pandemic. Percentage of time spent on travel will vary depending upon the nature of projects but is not expected to exceed 30% on average.


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree and minimum of 5 years relevant business experience to include the following accomplishments, skills and expertise: Extensive project management of complex initiatives, including the multi-disciplinary integration or separation process for one or more M&A transactions in a large matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple teams whose members are not direct reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be very detail oriented.
  • Experience collaborating with external organizations. Healthcare industry knowledge, though previous employment by a healthcare provider organization is not required.
  • Proficiency with electronic tools, including but not limited to, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office applications, as well as various database software.


Additional qualifications
MBA or MPH desirable, but not required. International business experience helpful. Availability for variable work hours owing to the 24 x 7 nature of existing operations and deadlines associated with M&A activity. Self-motivated, self-directed and highly organized. Must also be comfortable with ambiguity, and exhibit good decision-making, judgment and follow-through. Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously under significant time constraints. Possesses the ability to inspire trust and confidence, maintaining a high level of confidentiality as appropriate. Demonstrates a strong understanding of financial concepts, business processes, continuous improvement and organizational development.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary range every 2 weeks is approx. $4,245.60-$6,365.60, based on a full-time position.
