Position Summary


Appen is looking for a world-class product leader with AI/ML experience who cares deeply Appens vision of to make AI work in the real world.  The candidate will drive the company growth by shaping product vision and building great product lines which enable customers to launch machine learning initiatives at scale. 


The ideal candidate should have experience of leading an eco-system with Product, Design, and essential partners (Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, Customer Success and Sales) as critical partners. They will know how to develop the eco-system to enable existing growth and keep evolving to embrace the future.


The new leader also needs to participate actively in conversations with customers, advocate what is right for our customers, design and execute product strategies to serve our customers better.


The new leader should also have experience establishing best practices and grow the diversified team. The leader should be decisive and willing to make hard decision in the interest of business while care people and \u200bwilling to spend extra effort to grow other leaders


You will also work closely with CTO and other tech leaders to foster the tech culture. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and lead a fun team of product managers and designers who are obsessed about solving customer pain points.




  • Help create and shape our product vision.
  • Obsessed with customer, understand customer need and form product strategies.
  • Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition, and technologies as they change, and factor it, as well as feedback from internal groups and customers, into the product direction.
  • Lead teams to define and design products with deep collaboration with engineering, design, and data science teams with a lean and iterative approach.
  • Drive prototyping and iterations process to improve the product experience with design thinking sessions, A/B test experiments, and focus groups.
  • Adopt a data-driven approach to analyze the implementation of features based on business and customer impact.





  • At least 10 years of work experience in a product leadership function.
  • Expertise in building SaaS products.
  • Experience with other AI/ML products.
  • Deep understanding and experience with machine learning use cases, trends, and industry.
  • Comfortable leading customer meetings with prospects and clients.
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, problem-solve, and manage stakeholder issues.
  • Comfortable setting data-driven standards and holding teams accountable for metrics and decisions.
  • Ability to build trust and work closely with engineering and data science teams
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and with customers.
  • Bachelor's degree.
